Bye-election: INEC distributes sensitive materials to 3 LGAs in Kebbi, 25 polling units

Ahead of tomorrow by-election and rerun elections in Kebbi State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has completed distribution of sensitive election materials to three local government areas and 25 polling units respectfully, in state.

While by-election is taking place in Yauri, Shanga and Ngaski councils’ federal constituency, rerun elections would be taking place in 25 polling units of Dandi and Arewa councils of the state.

House of representative’s member, Yusuf Sununu, who was representing the Yauri-Shanga and Ngaski federal constituency was appointed as the Minister of State, while court order for a rerun in Arewa and Dandi councils over alleged the voting.

At the INEC headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, it was observed that all the security agencies attached to various council promptly resumed to the INEC office for onward convey of the sensitive materials to various councils.

Speaking with newsmen after the dispatched of materials, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Kebbi State, Abubakar Sarki-Pawa, disclosed all the sensitive electoral materials have been successfully distributed.

“The purpose of our meeting here today is that, we have just finished the distribution of the sensitive materials for Arewa and Dandi local government areas for rerun elections and for by-election in Yauri, Shanga and Ngaski local government areas.

“I want to thank all the political parties that responded promptly to witness the distribution of these sensitive materials as well as all the security agencies that were here to make this distribution successful.”
