Senator Kalu to partner church for promotion of peace, education

The Senator representing Abia North, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has pledged to partner with the Church to promote peace in Abia State and Nigeria, in general.

This is even as he celebrated with daughter of an Abia-based journalist, Ifeanyi Okali, whose daughter celebrated her one-year anniversary.

Kalu stated this at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN), Amaeze Parish, Arochukwu Local Government Area, during the Arochukwu Synodical Women’s Guild first biannual conference.

Senator Kalu, represented by the chairman of OUK Movement, Arochukwu Local Government Area, Eze Precious Ngwu (Bongidi), said his decision to attract the reconstruction of public schools in the senatorial district was borne out of his belief that education is the greatest form of empowerment and upliftment.

“The renovation of classroom blocks and distribution of educational materials was undertaken in furtherance of my avowed commitment to ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere in public schools within my constituency.

“As you can see, I attracted the renovation of classroom blocks here. I have also instructed my team to further reconstruct another one here. It is my desire to give our children a conducive learning environment. I’m ready to partner with the church to promote peace and education in Abia North, Abia State, and Nigeria, at large.

“Education remains the bedrock of national development. We need to educate our children; we also need peace across board to be able to attract investors and develop our place,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kalu has joined the Okali family to celebrate the first birthday of their daughter, Precious Ola Chizaramekpere Ifeanyi-Okali (OlaPre). She was born May 10, 2023, after her parents waited 11 years.

Kalu, who praised the family’s unwavering faith in God and patience, encouraged other couples to learn from the Okali family’s example that with faith and perseverance, miracles can happen.
