Appeal Court judgement: Pray for my victory, Kano Gov begs disabled persons

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has appealed to persons with disabilities in the state to pray for his electoral victory at the court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.

The Governor made the appeal on Monday during the distribution of 8,800 bags of grains to persons with disabilities in the state.

Recall that the Court of Appeal had reserved judgement in the appeal initiated by Governor Yusuf against the judgement of the tribunal which favoured Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the Alll Progressives Congress.

The Governor, represented by his deputy Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo disclosed that the gesture was part of his social policy adding that his administration would continue to come up with policies that would promote the welfare of the citizenry.

The beneficiaries included the blind, the deaf and dumb, crippled persons. orphans and widows of security personnel were drawn from the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Governor auded the committee on palliatives headed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, for their transparency and commitment towards ensuring that the palliatives reached the intended beneficiaries.

He announced that each beneficiary would get a bag of rice and a bag of maize, while tasking the members of the committee to be fair to all during the distribution.

He assured that his administration would continue to promote human development, as well as prioritise the welfare of the people of the state irrespective of their social status. End.
