APC wins bye-election in Benue

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Terwase Uche, has won the by-elections for Guma 1 state constituency.

 

The Returning Officer, Julius Ikya, from Joseph Sawuan Tarka University Makurdi, (JOSTUM), declared the APC candidate polled 5,289 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jimmy Geoffrey of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 4,134 votes.           

He also stated that while Labour Party (LP), candidate polled 2,833, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), polled 121 followed by African Democratic Congress (ADC), which polled 72 votes.

Declaring the results, Ikya said the APC candidate, Uche, having polled the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the by-elections for Guma 1 state constituency elections held on February 3, 2024.
