Head coach of the Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Christian have lost his life in a ghastly motor accident while traveling in the club’s bus to Abakiliki, Ebonyi State for a pre season tournament on Friday.
However other members of the team also riding in the bus survived but sustained injuries according to a release by management of the club
An earlier statement by the club on Friday, 23rd of August, 2024, explained that the incident occurred when the Heartland bus attempted tp to avoid another vehicle that had an accident parked on the road and eventually collided with it.
“Though no death was recorded some players and officials sustained injuries and have been taken to the hospital.”
Other parts of the team are currently receiving treatment in a nearby hospital around the scene.
